Inorganic scintillators which convert single ionizing radiation into a lot of photons have been playing a major role in many fields of radiation detection, including astrophysics, medical imaging, security, resource exploration, environmental monitoring, and biology.

I synthesize single crystals and transparent ceramics and evaluate optical and scintillation properties of these materials.
